MIXED-USE IN-FILL

LOCATION: Wilmington, North Carolina

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Site Analysis, Conceptual Master Plan, Phasing Plan, and Illustrative Master Plan for neighborhood retail center/residential mixed-use in-fill project.

The neighborhood will seek to remedy the most pressing problems associated with sprawl - low-density, auto-oriented development, single-use developments lacking context and distinctiveness. Automobile dependence results from the fragmentation of residential, commercial and recreation uses. The project will strive for community vitality through high quality land planning principles, proven principles to create high density in-fill projects, used by all, per proven Sustainability Principles:

  • Encouraging economic diversity and vitality

  • Encouraging development into areas that can best accommodate it

  • Using existing infrastructure

  • Encouraging clustering

  • Encouraging development patterns similar to traditional neighborhoods, including pedestrian scale

  • Encouraging economic expansion, job creation and stability

  • Minimizing infrastructure costs

  • Minimizing traffic congestion caused by new development

WATERSIDE at SURF CITY

LOCATION: Surf City, North Carolina

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Site Analysis, Conceptual Master Plan, Phasing Plan, and Illustrative Master Plan for a high-end waterfront residential community, within walking distance to the Atlantic Ocean.

Inspired by the charm of traditional neighborhood design and low country southern architecture, the residential village is a combination of cottages and beachside homes. Pedestrian friendly green streets, neighborhood parks, scenic lakes, preserved natural wetlands offer a sense of connection from the main entrance to the water’s edge. Attention to quality of life, along with social and economic sustainability – provide a uniquely special local community.

PINE FOREST PLANTATION

LOCATION: Oak Island, North Carolina

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Site Analysis, Conceptual Master Plan, Phasing Plan, and Illustrative Master Plan for a mixed-use 610 acre planned unit development.

By creating a work and play lifestyle community, the project will facilitate a sense of community with safe havens for recreation and inter-connectivity of pedestrian walks and trails, through strategically planned growth, environmental sensitivity, while emphasizing the preservation and protection of natural resources. Each neighborhood district will be individually unique, yet integrated by architecture and landscape architecture design.

WILMINGTON RESIDENCE

LOCATION: Wilmington, North Carolina

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Conceptual Site Planning, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Observation/Administration for the expansion of an existing Wilmington residence.

 

With vision and distinctive design direction, this unique project represents the personal passion and varied interests of the owners – has been designed to provide many pleasurable and inspiring moments to share with family and friends, now and for generations to come.
